Beny holds two Masters degrees – Master of International Law from Griffith University, and Master of Governance, Public Policy and Development from the University of Queensland; Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Politics and Government from Griffith University

Beny is currently the President of the Queensland African Communities Council (QACC) – an umbrella organisation that represents more than 80,000 people and organisations of African descent in QLD. Since assuming QACC’s leadership in 2019, Beny’s leadership has established many specialised departments within QACC including the African Youth Support Council (AYSC) which currently runs programs inside the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre, West Moreton Youth Detention Centre, and School-based early intervention’s programs across Greater Brisbane LGAs, Intensive Family Case Management, and has also opened 3 new African Youth & Community Centres at Redbank Plains, Moorooka and Geebung that employs more than 10 African young leaders as mentors.

Beny is Senior Manager for Youth Engagement and Community Partnerships at Queensland Program of Assistance for Survivors of Trauma and Torture (QPASTT).

Beny was a Program Manager at Youth Off The Streets Ltd for more than 9 years. Up until COVID-19, he was also managing Youth Off The Streets’ programs in Victoria and Queensland.

Beny is an author of a book titled The Ambition and Determination of an Orphan: God in Firm Hope. He also sits on the Ministerial Youth Justice Strategy Advisory Group, and Cohesive Communities Coalition.. He is a member of the Queensland Parole Board, Member of Ministerial Multicultural Queensland Advisory Council. He was a judge on the Queensland’s panel for the Australian of the Year 2022. Beny is a recipient of several government and community’s awards including Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Minister’s Multicultural Award 2021, Afroshine Australia, Victoria Police Community Award and many more. In 2022, Beny’s name was added to the wall of the Australia’s National Monument to Migration in recognition and honour of his contribution to Australia. As Australian Government delegate, Beny represented Australia at the Annual Tripartite Consultation on Resettlement in Geneva and was later selected as part of a panel of 3 persons discussing the named sponsorship and global equitable intake of refugee
